Letter to Treatment Providers
September 25, 2001
To whom it may concern I would like to thank the staff that are affiliated with the methadone maintenance clinics. They surely should be praised and appreciated. I lost a son five years ago at the age of forty, who was not lucky enough to have found his way to one of your clinics. Now I have a forty year old son and his wife, who have finally found their way to methadone maintenance treatment. Unfortunately, at the same time they started treatment, they also found out they had Hepatitis C; a result of their past drug use. He is now working part-time, something he wasn't able to do before starting treatment. He has lovely fifteen year old and eleven year old daughters. We probably won't have my son and daughter-in-law for too long, but I thank God and a clinic for giving us all hope. Many thanks from desperate parents who do not want to bury another child. Grateful Parents
